Chalet Muri Talk in Basel with Igor Ustinov
On August 28, 2025, another Chalet Muri Talk took place in Basel - the guest was Igor Ustinov, artist, sculptor, biologist and chairman of the Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation. In conversation with Claudio Righetti, he spoke about the importance of creativity, innovation and humanity in a networked world.
The conversation also led to very personal insights: topics such as the role of the famous artist's family, home, growing up in French-speaking Switzerland, the life of his father Peter Ustinov and the family's artistic roots as well as his latest inventions were addressed.
The audience asked where Igor Ustinov drew his palpable optimism from. His answer: the courage to tackle and change things.
The event took place at the Kulturstiftung Basel H. Geiger (KBH.G) - in the midst of an impressive exhibition by Irene Zurgilgen. The evening brought together personalities from the worlds of culture, business and politics and impressively demonstrated how inspiring the dialog between art and society can be.
